The manufacturing industry in the Philippines comprises almost half of
the local industrial sector of the country and accounts for almost a quarter of
the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It has one of the highest employment
rates among all other industries in key cities all over the archipelago. In the
manufacturing and processing industries, quality management system is a driving
mechanism to develop and produce quality products that ensures customer

Statistics Authority (PSA), shows that manufacturing contributes 22.3 percent
of GDP during the 2nd quarter of 2021, which employs about 3.5M
workforce.
The international standards upheld by ISO 9001, since it promotes
efficiency in company processes, also provides benefits to the industry
employees. Since documentation of management processes is essential to QMS,
keeping detailed records of business operations, trends, patterns and
weaknesses provides overview of business procedures. By doing so, high rate of
employee performance and productivity is likely to be achieved.
