according to the Department of Trade Industry (DTI) is one of the strongest and
fast growing sectors of the Philippine economy. Its gross value added
contribution reach 57% in 2014.
Recent government programs aims to sustain development, uphold
innovation and upgrade of the service sector including MSMEs. They country’s
goal in the industry from 2014 t0n2025 aims to provide globally competitive
services, create quality jobs, move up the value chain, and enable structural
transformation.
Given this government prospect for the service sector, it is compelling
for companies involved to be more pro-active in their participation to the
fulfillment of this noble plan. To be globally competitive, it is necessary to
practice standards at par with international quality.
Most companies involved in the service sector such as the providers of
basic utilities services practice the standards set by the International
Organization for Standardizations (ISO). Other companies on BPM, IT also
acquires certification of the said body. Government organizations are obliged
to practice the same.

government institutions set acquire certification of ISO 9001 or the Quality
Management System (QMS). It helps companies provide services to its clients and
customers the highest given standards.
