To ensure consumer welfare, numerous domestic regulations and guidelines are in place to uphold food safety and hygiene standards. The Food Safety Act of 2013 is the primary legislation governing these regulations, providing a comprehensive framework for the implementation of farm-to-fork safety regulatory systems. This law guarantees a high level of food safety, promotes fair trade, and enhances the global competitiveness of Filipino food and food products. Regulatory bodies overseeing these standards are attached to the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Agriculture (DA).
